On Friday, everything changed for my family.

A devastating fire tore through my mother’s home on Church Ave while she (43), my 15-year-old brother, my 74-year-old stepfather, and my 68-year-old grandmother were inside. By the grace of God, they all made it out safely. That alone is a blessing we will never take for granted.

But they walked out with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

In a matter of minutes, the place they called home — the place where my grandmother felt safe, where my little brother slept each night, where my mom & step dad worked so hard to build stability — was gone. Ceilings collapsed. Rooms were destroyed. Everything inside was either burned or severely damaged by smoke and water.

Years of memories. Family photos. Furniture. Clothing. Everyday essentials. All of it — gone.

There’s a certain shock that comes with standing outside your own home and realizing you can’t go back in. That’s the reality they’re facing right now — trying to process the trauma while also figuring out how to start over from nothing.

We are asking for support to help them take the next steps forward — temporary housing, clothing, food, toiletries, and the basic necessities needed to rebuild their lives. Every donation will go directly toward helping them regain stability and a sense of normalcy during this incredibly difficult time.
