My oldest son has autism, which sometimes requires mental health holds and hospitalization. Recently, he had an episode that resulted in both of us needing medical care—he was admitted to the hospital, and I was injured and ended up in the emergency room. As a single mom with two kids, I am doing my best to keep us afloat, but the medical bills from this experience have become overwhelming.

Every day, I work hard to provide a safe and loving home for my children. The unexpected costs from this recent crisis have made it difficult to keep up with basic needs like groceries and utilities.
