On January 13th, I was admitted to the ICU with a life-threatening diagnosis of Ludwig's angina and airway compromise. I had never heard of this condition before, but it nearly took my life. After moving out of the ICU, I continued to recover in the hospital and was discharged on January 21st. As a single income household, I pushed myself to return to work quickly, but my body wasn't ready. After just two days, I ended up back in the hospital by ambulance, and now I'm home but unable to work, with very limited strength.
This has been an incredibly frightening and overwhelming time for me and my family. I lost my insurance at the end of December, and my new coverage doesn't start until February 1st, leaving me with significant out-of-pocket costs for two hospital stays. I am currently administering antibiotics through a midline in my arm and cannot lift more than 10 lbs, making it impossible to work until at least February 5th. I can barely walk and have no strength, but I am doing everything I can to recover.
The funds raised will help cover our household bills due to lost wages and the medical expenses incurred during this critical period. Any support you can offer would mean the world to me and my family as we navigate this difficult time. Your kindness will help us keep up with bills and medical costs while I focus on healing. Thank you for considering a donation or sharing my story.
