On Monday, our family’s world was shattered by a brutal act of violence. What started as a normal morning at home turned into a nightmare when an intruder forced his way into their residence in Everett. My mother-in-law and younger sister were the victims of a senseless double stabbing. In the midst of this horror, my older sister stepped in to do the unthinkable. Despite being wounded herself, Tia heroically fought off the suspect with everything she had, protecting her family and holding him off until the police arrived. While we are incredibly grateful that they are all now in stable condition, the road to recovery will be long and arduous. Both mom and sister have already undergone emergency surgeries, but the physical wounds are only part of the battle. Tia is carrying the heavy weight of what she had to witness and do to save her family. All three women will need extensive, long-term trauma therapy and specialized counseling to process this nightmare. Because this happened inside their own home, the family feels deeply unsafe returning to the site of the attack. We are seeking funds to help cover: Medical Bills & Counseling: Costs for surgeries, ongoing physical care, and intensive trauma therapy for Tia and the family. Emergency Housing: Hotel fees and relocation costs so they can stay in a secure, safe environment while they recover.
