I was working a good job at a machine shop, doing my best to support my wife and our two boys. Three years ago, we were able to build a new home together, and I was proud to be holding everything down for my family. Unfortunately, I started struggling with drinking, and it put a strain on my relationship with my wife. On July 6, 2025, I made a terrible decision to drink and drive, which led to a serious accident. I wrecked my truck and suffered a stroke because of the crash. I spent about two and a half months in the hospital and at Rusk Rehabilitation Center, and I lost the use of my left arm. Now, I can no longer work and help pay the bills, and my wife is working as hard as she can to support all four of us.
We are facing a lot of challenges right now. Our house payment is due each month, and I need therapy to try to regain the use of my arm. I am trying to get state insurance, but it is taking much longer than we hoped, and I am afraid we will lose our home and property if I can't find a way to help provide for my family. I also need to get another truck for transportation so I can help out however I can. I have filed for disability, but it could take years to get approved. I know I made poor decisions with drinking, but I am committed to never drinking alcohol again and doing everything I can to get back on my feet for my family.
It would mean so much to us if anyone could help us out during this difficult time. If and when I am able to get back to the man I was, I promise to personally come help anyone who supports us in any way I can. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer.
