My name is Mindy. I am making this go fund me out of desperation for myself and my family. I am not one to ask for help but at this point I don't know what else to do.

My fiancée, Adam, and I have struggled our whole relationship together to overcome every obstacle. Trying our best to give our daughter, Mckenna, a good life. She is now 17 and we were able to do what needed to be done for her and finally in 2020, at the start of the pandemic, we purchased and moved into our home. In the fall of 2020, Adams brother, Bryan, moved in with us so he didn't lose everything because of the pandemic stuff. For the last 5 years, the 4 of us as a family, have pieced it together to be our favorite place to be. In 15 minutes, I watched all of that hard work and pride in our home wash away, literally.

On July 26, 2025, while cleaning up dinner, it started to rain. Within 15 minutes my yard filled with water and looked like a lake. With nowhere for the water to go, it broke a retaining wall and flooded the lowest level of our home. In minutes our home filled with 4 feet of water, bursting through a steel security door. I waded through that 4 feet of water trying to save what i could and find a family pet that was hiding from the storm downstairs. Fortunately, bella the cat is smart, and wedged herself between the headboard of my bed and a wall. She managed to climb up out of the water and hang on til I got to her.

The fire department pumped out as much water as they could, the rest receeded mostly. My fiancée and my bedroom and other living spaces were completely ruined. We now have inches of mud and water. We need to replace a furnace, hot water tank, washer/dryer along with all of our personal effects. Not to mention all of the cleanup of gutting the entire space to make it safe to live on the upper floor. We need help getting the funds to get the dumpster and a cleanup crew.

The insurance company is denying coverage which apparently is the norm in these situations and we just want the clean out to start so we can start the rebuilding of our 20 year life together.

We don't know an actual amount of restoration cost, but it's gonna be expensive. The furnace, hot water tank, washer/dryer and gutting everything alone is overwhelming.
