Hello everyone,
My name is Jorge and as some of you may have heard, on Monday morning, a powerful earthquake struck the department of Chocó, Colombia, impacting neighboring cities, including Manizales, where my family is from.
Unfortunately, two of my aunts and my cousin were forced to evacuate and abandon their apartment, as well as most of their belongings, aside from some garbage bags they filled with some cloths, after it was deemed structurally unsafe. Thankfully, they are safe and are currently staying with my uncle, but they are now faced with the difficult task of finding a new place to call home and replacing many of the everyday necessities they’ve lost, including furniture, kitchen appliances, dishes, and other household essentials.
Our family has set up a fundraiser to help them get back on their feet. Please don’t feel any obligation to contribute, but if you are in a position to donate, any amount would be deeply appreciated. And if donating isn’t possible, simply sharing the fundraiser with friends, family, or others in your network would be an enormous help as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support you’re able to offer—whether through a donation, a share, or simply keeping my family in your thoughts!
Sincerely,
~Jorge
