Hi, my name is Rodney. I'm starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousins and family who live in Vientiane, Laos. On March 22, 2026, a sudden hailstorm struck Vientiane. What began as heavy rain in the evening quickly turned into a shower of hail that destroyed their roofs. My family lives together on one property—two main houses and three small shed-sized homes. In total, 25 people across four families live in these homes, including 11 children, three of whom are infants.
Since the storm, they have continued sleeping inside the damaged houses without any proper roof. When it rains, water comes directly onto their beds. In Laos' hot and humid climate, this creates serious risks such as mold, illness, and unsafe conditions, especially for my little cousins and grandparents. There is no insurance, no government aid, and only enough savings to provide for their daily needs. The cost of rebuilding is far beyond what they can afford on their own.
Every donation will go toward rebuilding roofing structures, installing new clay roof tiles, replacing damaged ceilings, and hiring local workers to make the homes safe and livable again. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help us reach more people. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this urgent time.
