On Saturday, my parents, Reid and Margaret, and my younger sister, Ayla, lost their home in the Old Trails Fire in Spokane. In a matter of hours, they lost everything.

It is truly heartbreaking to see a home my parents worked so hard to build and care for gone in an instant. That house wasn’t just a building, it was the home where they started their family and where more than 20 years of memories were made. It was my childhood home, filled with birthdays, holidays, laughter, and countless moments that can never be replaced. While those memories will stay with us forever, so many irreplaceable keepsakes and belongings are gone.

My dad proudly served in the U.S. military for over 20 years and is an Iraq and Afghanistan combat campaign veteran. He has spent much of his life serving our country and helping others. Now, our family is facing the difficult task of rebuilding after losing everything in the fire.

Right now, they are staying in a hotel as they begin the overwhelming process of starting over. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help them with their immediate needs.
