I’m heartbroken writing this. My family’s home burned down — and they lost absolutely everything. Every belonging, every keepsake, every little piece of their life that made that house a home… it’s all gone.

But the most devastating part is that they lost their dog, Roxy, in the fire. Roxy wasn’t “just a dog.” She was family. She was their baby. Their shadow. Their joy. Losing her has left a hole that nothing could ever fill.

No one was home when it happened — my mom was actually in the hospital undergoing an emergency surgery — so while I’m beyond grateful that they’re physically safe, they’re emotionally shattered and starting from nothing. They don’t have a home to go back to, and all the things that made up their world are gone.

This GoFundMe is to help them start over — even just the basics: clothes, a place to stay, and essentials to get through each day. I just want to help give them a small piece of hope while they try to rebuild their lives and grieve the loss of their baby girl, Roxy.
