On a day that changed our lives forever, a devastating fire swept through the home of my mom, little brother, cousin, and grandma. The flames moved so quickly that there was barely time to react. We are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out alive, but the loss has been heartbreaking. The fire destroyed nearly all of their belongings and tragically took the lives of our two beloved puppies. My grandma required medical care after the incident, and the emotional toll on our family has been immense.

If you know my mom, you know she is a woman who serves. She is devoted to her community, always the first to help, always the one willing to take the coat off her own back to make sure someone else is okay. She is a devoted mother, daughter, and friend—the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation. Seeing someone who has given so much now facing such a devastating loss has been incredibly difficult for all of us.

Today, my family is faced with the overwhelming task of rebuilding from nothing. They need help replacing essential items, covering medical expenses, and securing a safe place to stay as they begin the healing process. We adjusted the goal as we started understanding the true scope of what my mom lost and the costs of rebuilding, temporary housing, and replacing essentials. Every bit of support is going directly to helping her stabilize and move forward. My mom is truly a humble woman who has never asked anyone for help. I watched her work tirelessly for all she had. She said she’s truly grateful for all the support she is receiving — she’s also at a loss of words.
