On a day that started like any other, my parents and brothers found themselves facing a nightmare. A fire broke out in the apartment right above theirs, and because of the strong winds, the flames spread with terrifying speed. The fire department arrived quickly and did everything they could, but the damage was overwhelming. My parents' apartment was completely flooded and destroyed in the process. My family, along with 15 other families, stood outside in shock, watching as their homes and memories were consumed by the fire.

After two to three hours, the flames were finally put out, but the devastation was total. Sixteen apartments, including my parents', were left uninhabitable. My parents and brothers were not allowed back inside and were told it could be a long time before they could even see if anything was salvageable. All they had with them were their phones and the clothes on their backs. Since then, they have been trying to stay positive, but the reality is that they have lost everything and are now searching for a safe place to stay, as well as the basic necessities of life.

My family needs help to get back on their feet. They need everything from clothes and food to furniture, but most importantly, they need a new place to call home.
