Typhoon Opong recently hit my family’s village in the Philippines, causing a massive landslide and destructive winds that wiped out every one of their homes. The land they lived on for generations is now covered in mud, debris, and broken memories. My grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins have been left with nothing—no roof over their heads, no food, no clean water, and no money to rebuild. Right now, they are sleeping in makeshift shelters.
