My name is Anastasia Corvino. Me and my family have not had it easy over the past couple of months. Last year at this time, I contracted sepsis and was in and out of the hospital with ESBL, which left me in the hospitals for weeks upon weeks. We were doing really well financially until this took place. We started to fall behind, but we managed. Then my fiancé's job became short on work. He tried for months to find work, going to job interview after job interview, and nothing until recently. Just when we thought things were looking up, the government shut down, and we had to make the decision, which I never thought we would have to, to either feed our family of 5 or pay the rent. I couldn’t let my family starve. We went to pantries, which were cleaned out. I took every hour I could at work, and he did the same, sometimes me working 16 hours even with my health problems.

I currently am dealing with a heart condition where I get extremely tachycardic, and this stress is not helping. I also have to get nerve studies done because the sepsis made my nerve issues worse. Just typing, my hands and legs are going in and out numb. They are saying I could lose all feeling if I don’t get this fixed in time, and I can’t take off to take care of it because if I miss a day, I will fall behind. I’m scared at this point; I don’t even know how to catch up. I’m behind on rent but not so bad at the moment, but without some help, I don’t know how I’ll be able to catch back up. Christmas is coming, and I don’t even know how I’m going to have a Christmas. I lost my storage unit, so I would have to buy all the decorations, etc., over. I don’t want my 5 kids to go without a Christmas; it would be devastating. The landlord won’t take CEO help or any rent assistance, so I can’t go that route. This is even so embarrassing to even have to post, but I’m asking for you guys' help so I can catch up and be able to provide a Christmas for my children. Anything will help. Thanks in advance. I’ve worked since I was 14 years old. I’m hardworking and still working, even looking for a second job myself.
