Hello, my name is Alyssa Court and my husband’s name is Matthew Court. We have 5 children ranging from 12 months to 15 along with 4 dogs. In the early morning hours on 07/20/22, our home caught on fire. By the grace of God, my husband woke up because he smelled smoke and ran to find the source. The garage was on fire! Within just a few minutes, he woke all of us up and had us all outside. I was the last one out of the house as it was hard to see through the smoke and I have a broken ankle. We were all scared and confused in our pajamas not knowing what to do next. The fire spread from the garage to two of the kids’ rooms and into the attic. We have been able to salvage a few things, but we have lost most everything including all of our clothes, blankets, beds, toys, appliances, tools for work, our motorcycles and too much more to list. We escrowed our insurance, property taxes, and HOA Fee with our mortgage. When we contacted our mortgage company to figure out who our insurance policy was with, they told us that there was no policy. We are perplexed how that happened. While we are still trying to get the help we need from the mortgage company, we are in a difficult situation, and we do not know how it is going to be resolved or how long it will take or if we will get anything.

We would greatly appreciate any help you can provide us. Even just $1.00 would help. We have set up a GoFundMe account and are praying for money to help us get started on building a new home. The inspector that came out and looked at our home said it would have to be completely torn down. We are so grateful for what we have received from so many already including clothes, dinnerware, backpacks for the kids, and money which we plan to put towards rebuilding our home. The outpouring of support and love has been such a blessing and has brought tears to our eyes. Both my husband and I work and are doing all we can think of, but we are afraid it is not enough. We have so much to replace and money is already tight with 5 kids. We are so grateful to God that we are all safe and alive and are eager to rebuild our home for our children to grow up in.
