On January 20, at around 4:45 AM, our apartment ceiling collapsed in the living room. We believe this happened because of termite damage that we had warned our landlord about several times, but unfortunately, they failed to take action. Today, March 6, the ceiling collapsed a second time, this time on my little brother at around 3-4 PM. Thankfully, he is okay, but this has made our situation even more urgent and stressful. This was just the latest in a long list of issues we've faced in our apartment, and despite our repeated calls for help, our landlord continued to ignore us. Eventually, we had to call Code Enforcement, and now they're looking to take legal action against the landlord. However, we have no idea how long this process will take or how much, if anything, we'll get back.

Thankfully, we've managed to find a new home that is much safer and more comfortable for my family. However, the costs to move are much higher than we anticipated, and it's putting a real strain on us. I also have to transfer to a different store for work, which adds another layer of uncertainty and adjustment for our family. We're doing our best to stay positive and move forward, but it's a huge shift for all of us.
