My mother, sister, and I are facing a difficult situation with our rent. We recently learned that we are significantly behind, which has put us in a tight bind. I used to contribute to covering our rent and bills, but due to complications with my health—I'm a type 1 diabetic—I kept growing ill and had to work less and less. Eventually, I was quietly let go from my job. Since then, I've been trying constantly to find a new line of work, but so far, I haven't had any luck.

This had made it impossible for us to catch up, and now we're at risk of losing our apartment. With the money raised, we could clean up what we owe and keep our home as well as pay for medication and keep our pets, if we lose our home we have no place to put them. It would mean so much to us to have a chance to get back on our feet and regain some stability.
