Hello, my name is Saeb Aqel, a Canadian Citizen currently living in Canada, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for help.

My family in Gaza—my mother, my sisters, and my brother—are living through an unimaginable nightmare. Since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza, they have been struggling to survive daily under the constant threat of violence, starvation, displacement, and illness.

In December 2024, my sister Aqsa's life changed forever. Her home was directly hit by an airstrike. She lost her young son and several members of her husband’s family in that devastating moment.

Aqsa survived, but her injuries were catastrophic. She lost one of her legs and severely injured the other. She also sustained injuries to her eyes, leaving her nearly blind.

In the midst of this unbearable trauma, there is a small glimmer of hope: Aqsa has recently been accepted to receive medical treatment outside of Gaza. This treatment could save what is left of her eyesight and allow her to receive an artificial leg. But without financial support, that door of hope will close. My family does not have the means to cover the medical expenses, travel, housing, or even daily necessities.

They are living in inhumane conditions—without food, clean water, electricity, or access to proper medical care. Illnesses are spreading rapidly, and every day is a fight for survival.

We are hoping to raise $30,000 CAD to support:

Aqsa’s urgent medical treatment (surgery, an artificial leg, and vision care)

Travel and relocation costs

Basic living expenses: food, water, clothing, and medications

Safe housing for my family outside of Gaza
