Help My Family Get To The UK For My Brother

Please help my family get to the UK as my brother goes through heart surgery.

Hi again. Last time I was writing a GoFundMe page, it was five years ago and my dad had just passed away from brain cancer. He had no life insurance, we were being told how much it would cost to hold a funeral, and we were dumbfounded about what to do. We turned to GoFundMe for help, and to our gratitude, hundreds of thougtfuk friends, family and strangers helped us to plan and hold a funeral to honour our dad. To this day, I often think of the kindness we were given, and strive to return that into the universe every day. I am still so grateful.

A year later after that, our family experienced another shock to our systems when my younger brother, while at uni in the UK, lost consciousness at the library and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, undergoing immediate heart surgery. My mom and I were able to pull together funds to rush over from Toronto to London to be by his side, while my older brother was in another country on vacation. Fortunately, the incredible team at St. Bartholomew’s hospital did everything they can to save my brother’s life and the NHS has continued to support his health every day since.

That brings us to today where my brother is now undergoing another heart surgery in London – where I now live too – after having an infection this week. The surgery has been going on today and we are in desperate need for my mother and brother to fly here from Toronto ASAP. At the moment this GoFundMe is our only option.

So that’s why I find myself here again, asking if anyone can spare $5-10 to help us achieve that goal, I and my family would be massively grateful. Additionally if there’s anything you can offer that might help, such as an Airbnb or space in London for a couple weeks at a discounted rate, we would be immensely grateful too.
