My name is Ramzi Al-Mashharawi. I am 39 years old, married to Nisreen, and together we have four wonderful children. Our oldest child is 15 years old, and our youngest is 6 years old. We were living a beautiful, happy life full of dreams, but everything changed on October 7, 2023, when the war on Gaza began. Since then, our lives have been turned upside down.
My Story
Before the war, I owned a beautiful restaurant that was the primary source of income for my family. We enjoyed a life filled with happiness, security, and stability. However, this war took everything from us. Our restaurant was completely destroyed, and our children—Hala (15), Ayham (13), Amir (9), and Zain (6)—were severely traumatized by the horrors of war. We were displaced more than 10 times, each move filled with fear and uncertainty, as we faced death and severe shortages of food and medicine.
The sound of bombs and the sight of destruction left my children terrified. Seeing my children suffer without the basic necessities of life—food, clothing, water, and medicine—broke my heart. Our tents were destroyed, and my children constantly demanded the security and peaceful sleep I could no longer provide. This nightmare left lasting scars on their health and psychological well-being.
We lost everything: our home, our car, and our source of income. In a desperate bid to survive, my wife and I borrowed money from family and friends and sold our gold jewelry. We eventually managed to escape to Egypt, but not without a heavy financial burden. We paid a large sum to cross the border, and now we find ourselves in a new country with nothing left.
The Purpose
Our dream is to rebuild our lives and provide a stable, comfortable life for our children. We need your help to make this dream a reality. With your support, we hope to start a shawarma restaurant similar to the one we had in Gaza. This will allow us to provide housing, education, and food for our family, and help our children return to a sense of normalcy.
My Financial Goal
We are looking to raise $60,000 to cover the costs of starting our new business, securing housing, and providing for our children’s needs.
