My mom has always put my twin brother and me first, working hard and sacrificing her own well-being to keep us going. Over the last three years, she’s lost her job several times, and each time it’s taken a toll on her. Now, she’s burnt out, and I can see how much she needs a break. I’m a part-time community college student and work full-time as a supervisor, while my twin brother also works full-time. We’re all just tired—tired of working nonstop, paying bills, and barely getting by.

The idea for this fundraiser came after my brother broke down, overwhelmed by the pressure of working overtime to cover the loss of income from my mom. It broke my heart to see him so lost, and I realized that none of us are really living—we’re just surviving. What we need most is a chance to step away from the stress, spend time together, and reconnect with our family overseas. My mom hasn’t truly seen her loved ones in 10 years, and I want to give her the chance to rest and feel supported by a community of people who love us.

With your help, we could take a trip to see our family, and I’m not asking for help to pay our bills while we’re away, since I plan to use my PTO to cover those. But we do need help getting out of debt so we’re not burdened when we return. I’m also continuing college online so I can graduate early and one day help my mom retire back in her home country.
