Our house caught on fire last night because of a problem with the electrical breaker. The fire chief confirmed the cause, and now we have no lights or water. Our landlord told us we need to leave within 24 hours. I have a son with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair, and another child who is autistic. I spent all my savings last September when my daughter was murdered, and now we have little money for a hotel. The Red Cross only provided enough for two nights. My husband and I work, but this emergency caught us off guard. We have four other kids living with us, and despite reaching out to multiple agencies, we haven’t been able to get help. That’s why I’m turning to the community for support.
Any and all help will go towards first and security deposits so we can provide a new rental property for our family to stay in a safe environment. I had just paid rent, light, and water bills, so I have no finances left to move. This support will help us get back on our feet and into a stable home.
Me, my husband, and my kids would be so graciously appreciative of anything you can provide to help us find a stable, safe home. I do have my security deposit back, but everyone wants first, last, and security, and I can’t provide it at this time. We will appreciate any help anyone can give us during this difficult time.
