I am currently facing a difficult immigration battle after spending months in an ICE detention facility away from my very young and vulnerable children. I urgently need support. As I go through removal proceedings, the threat of deportation is real and terrifying. I am unable to afford an attorney, and without legal representation, I risk being separated from my family. My five children, all United States citizens, depend on me for their daily care and emotional stability. One of my children is autistic and requires extra support, making the possibility of deportation even more devastating for our family.
Immigration court moves quickly, my next hearing and deadline is rather sooner than I expected. I live in the Orlando/Kissimmee area, and the costs associated with legal fees are overwhelming. I am reaching out because I cannot navigate this complex legal system alone. Your support will help me secure an attorney who can fight to keep my family together and ensure my children continue to receive the care they need.
A little about myself and how this situation came upon me…
Brought to the United States from Jamaica by my mother on a tourist visa at the age of 6, having never left the united state after my arrival. I have built my entire life on American soil. I have no knowledge of the country I was born as I left at such a young age. I was raised, went to school, have children in this country I call home. While whatever circumstances led to my mother not petitioning for me at a younger age. The U.S. has been my home for as long as I can remember. Having never returned to Jamaica since that tender age, my roots, culture, and future are deeply woven into the fabric of this country.
I am asking for your help during this critical time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in our lives. Your generosity will give us hope and a chance to stay together as a family. Thank you for considering our situation and for supporting us in this urgent moment.
