- O
My family in Gaza, six people in total. are in urgent need of support to escape unimaginable conditions and reunite with loved ones.
We are trying to raise $30,000 USD, the required amount to cover Egypt’s imposed exit fee of $5,000 per person, in anticipation of the border reopening.
️ Who They Are:
My uncle and his wife
Their son, his wife, and their two young daughters
They are currently living together on open land, building temporary shelter wherever they can. Most recently, they’ve stayed near the beach on empty lands, constantly moving based on threats issued by the Israeli army.
They’ve lost absolutely everything:
Their homes have been reduced to ashes
Any means of transportation was destroyed since the beginning of the war
Their livelihoods were blown up and no longer exist
They now try to survive off the land.. scavenging, building, and enduring.
My Cousin’s Juice Shop
In a moment of hope, my cousin managed to open a tiny juice shop, trying to build something despite the rubble around him. Every cent he makes goes to his daughters, to buy formula, diapers, and food, but there’s hardly anything left over. Still, he shows up, every single day, for them.
Why We Need Your Help
The only chance they have now is to flee to Egypt, where they can reunite with our other extended family, find work, and try to rebuild their lives in safety.
To do that, they must pay an exit fee of $5,000 per person, required by Egyptian authorities.
That’s $30,000 total for all six family members.
️ About the Photos
When you look at the photos we’ve shared, you’ll see them smiling, because no matter what, nothing has broken their spirit.
But smiles don't mean safety. We just need to save their lives.
Their homes, car, and their livelihoods, everything they ever built or called home are shown in the photos, now destroyed.
How You Can Help
Your donation will help us get them across the border and into safety. Every dollar gets us closer to reuniting our family and giving them the chance to start again.
If you can’t give, please share this campaign. Visibility can save their lives.
Disclaimer to Donors
We are collecting this money in anticipation of the Rafah border reopening so that we can secure trusted brokers to help the family cross safely.
Please note:
• Timing: The process will take time, as border openings are unpredictable and funds must be gathered in advance to act quickly once movement is possible.
• Use of Funds: The money raised will be dedicated to covering the costs of securing safe passage and related expenses for the family.
• Withdrawal of Funds: We will not withdraw or release any money until confirmation that the border is open and payment arrangements can be made.
• Transparency: Regular updates will be shared with donors to ensure accountability and to keep you informed of progress.
Your support helps us prepare in advance so that when the opportunity arises, the family can move without delay.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and standing with us.
With all our heart,
The Abushaqra family
