Help Save Mazzocco's Nightclub

Mazzocco's Nightclub, operating for over 40 years, and home to over 3 generations is in need of your support. I've grown up seeing my father, Juan Chavez, work as hard as he could to maintain the business, but most importantly our family. 

As we all know, COVID-19 has taken a huge toll amongst small businesses. We are no exception. Bars and nightclubs are suffering the most. A lot of independent owners (my dad included) do not qualify for any aid, help, grants, or loans. To make things worse, we are the very last of in the government's plan to reopen California (not to mention we were the first to be shutdown). As of now, there is still much uncertainty regarding when bars are going to be able to open again.  

Mazzoccos is the oldest latin bar/nightclub in Redwood City. In the last five years, I've personally seen the bar go through a lot of good and bad times. Recently, many of our customers have moved out of the area due to rising rent and mortgage prices: gentrification. Nonetheless, we've manage to overcome all of our obstacles. However, this is an obstacle that I do not see my father coming out of without help. My father is a very stubborn and prideful man. In other words, he is a man who doesn't ask for help. In fact, he has no idea that I am creating this page. You can even say that I am doing this behind his back. I may be in trouble for doing this, but I know him and our situation well. I've heard the conversations my parents have had, I've seen my father grow into depression these past months, I've the stress this has had on him and my mother like I've never seen before, they are in distress and I am starting to feel that way to. I have to do what I can to help support my family and my father.

Mazzocco's Nightclub, con más de 40 años de funcionamiento y hogar de más de 3 generaciones, necesita su apoyo. He crecido viendo a mi padre, Juan Chávez, trabajar tan duro como pudo para mantener el negocio, pero lo más importante, nuestra familia.

Como todos sabemos, COVID-19 ha cobrado un precio enorme entre las pequeñas empresas. No somos la excepción. Los bares y discotecas son los que más sufren. Muchos propietarios independientes (incluido mi padre) no califican para ninguna ayuda, ayuda, subvenciones o préstamos. Para empeorar las cosas, somos los últimos en el plan del gobierno para reabrir California (sin mencionar que fuimos los primeros en cerrar). A partir de ahora, todavía hay mucha incertidumbre con respecto a cuándo las barras podrán abrirse nuevamente.
Mazzoccos es el bar / club nocturno latino más antiguo de Redwood City. En los últimos cinco años, personalmente he visto al bar pasar por muchos buenos y malos momentos. Recientemente, muchos de nuestros clientes se han mudado fuera del área debido al aumento de los precios de alquiler e hipoteca: la gentrificación. No obstante, hemos logrado superar todos nuestros obstáculos. Sin embargo, este es un obstáculo del que no veo salir a mi padre sin ayuda. Mi padre es un hombre muy terco y orgulloso. En otras palabras, es un hombre que no pide ayuda. De hecho, no tiene idea de que estoy creando esta página. Incluso puedes decir que estoy haciendo esto a sus espaldas. Puedo estar en problemas por hacer esto, pero lo conozco bien a él y a nuestra situación. He escuchado las conversaciones que han tenido mis padres, he visto a mi padre convertirse en depresión en los últimos meses, tengo el estrés que esto ha tenido sobre él y mi madre como nunca antes había visto, están angustiados y Estoy empezando a sentirme así. Tengo que hacer lo que pueda para ayudar a mantener a mi familia y a mi padre.
