MAY 27 UPDATE: HELLO FRIENDS AND FAMILY! We wanted to share an update about where things are at. WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL OF 5K!!! My dad has found a new job, which we’re very thankful for. Although it’s a positive step forward, the pay is lower than what he was making before, and our family income is still far below what we need to cover our bills.
Our cleaning business is also still struggling as we work to find new contracts, but we’re seeing small signs of hope and improvement.
My family applied for utility assistance and bills help from the government but we were denied it because it was "no longer an emergency" when my dad had to contact the companies to put our payments on a plan. We got approved for snap, but our approved amount is 58$ a month for a family of 5.
My family has decided that we will leave this up and running for anyone who would like to get updates and stick around to support us. We appreciate every bit of support you’ve given our family. Your generosity has helped carry us through such a difficult time and continues to give us hope as we work toward financial stability. Thank you for being here for us. ❤️
----- END IF UPDATE -----
My family urgently needs help covering mortgage by May 2nd. On April 2nd, my dad, my family's sole provider, was laid off without notice, and we don’t currently have enough income to cover next month’s bills or basic expenses. We're going through a really difficult and unexpected time.
We live paycheck to paycheck, and this sudden loss of income has left us in a really scary position. Alongside his main job, my family also has a small cleaning business, but we recently lost several buildings due to competition, which has cut our income even more.
My dad is 60 years old and actively looking for work but finding a new job at his age can take time. He is hardworking and determined, but right now we’re facing a gap we can’t cover alone, and we are unsure when someone else will give my dad a chance.
I’ve been working hard to start a small sticker business to help support us, putting everything I can into designing and preparing to open my shop. I’m doing everything possible, but we need more time to get through this moment and to figure out our next steps.
If 5,000 people gave just $1, we would be able to cover bills, necessities and give my dad time to find a new job.
Any amount helps, and sharing this means everything to us. Thank you for helping my family through this incredibly difficult time.
