Help My Family and Community in Jamaica Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa

Hurricane Melissa recently hit Jamaica and left behind devastating damage in my hometown. My family and community are struggling to recover from what feels like a nightmare.

My mother’s home was severely damaged — her roof was torn off, and most of her belongings were destroyed by heavy rain and wind. My grandmother’s bathroom collapsed, and she also lost much of what she owned. Several close friends lost their homes entirely, and many others lost their livestock — chickens, goats, and the small means they depended on to survive.

These are hardworking, humble people who have always helped others even when they had little. Now, they are the ones in need. The goal of this fundraiser is to help provide roof repairs, replacement of essential items, rebuilding materials, and support for families who lost their homes and livestock.

Every dollar helps — whether it’s buying a few sheets of zinc, a bag of cement, or food to get through the next few weeks.
