I am creating this fundraiser for my family after the devastating loss of my stepdad, who was also my younger sisters’ biological father. He died by suicide, and our lives changed overnight. My little sisters were the ones who found him, and that trauma is something no child should ever have to carry. Since then, my family has been trying to cope with grief, shock, and the painful process of adjusting to life without him. He was the sole provider for our household, and now my mom is having to step into the role of supporting everyone on her own while also helping my sisters through this heartbreaking time.
The support from this fundraiser will help with the everyday needs that do not stop, even in the middle of loss. It will go toward groceries, car bills, school expenses for my sisters, and the medication my older sister needs for her seizures. These are ongoing needs, and having steady support would help my mom keep food in the house, keep transportation available, and make sure my sisters have what they need as she works through this transition. If you are able to give monthly, that kind of recurring help would mean so much as these expenses continue over time. One-time donations would also be deeply appreciated and would help ease some of the pressure right now.
I am 20 years old and about to get married, and there is only so much help I can give at this point in my life. If you are in a position to support my family, I would be truly grateful. And if you are not able to give, I ask that you please keep my family in your prayers as we walk through this incredibly difficult season.
