As many of you know, many parts of Southern Turkey have recently been hit with a series of massive earthquakes (up to 7.8 magnitudes), as well as aftershocks. Our city named 'Iskenderun' as well as the many villages it neighbors are at the epicenter of this disaster. This devastating natural disaster has displaced many of our loved ones as well as taken the lives of thousands of people and counting. Many more continue to be trapped under the ruins. Due to extreme demand and lack of resources, the country is experiencing a lack of urgency when it comes to rescue efforts. Like thousands of others, the people of Iskenderun are currently residing outside in cold and rainy weather conditions with feelings of uncertainty. I ask for your support in this catastrophic time in hopes that we can aid our city and surrounding village(s) who rely on our help. We thank you in advance for any support.

My name is Derya Turkmen. I live in Ontario, Canada with roots originating in Turkey. This city is our home to many of our family and friends. More specifically, your donations will be used to provide emergency shelter, clothing, food, and supplies to those in need. Any remaining funds will be directly put towards housing reparations. All funds will be directly transferred by me to my cousin in Turkey.
