Hey there, my name is Arlanne Burquez and I’m initiating this GoFundMe page to help my families in the Philippines from the recent disaster, Super Typhoon Rai (Odette).
I have multiple families living in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental; Sipalay, all throughout the southern islands of the Philippines whose homes and livelihood have completely been destroyed. They have no food, water, clothes, or electricity and I am asking if anyone can help at this time. Anything helps, even something as small as $5. I sincerely appreciate the time and concern from friends, family and even strangers. I’m devastated that they are experiencing these horrific events. This is the least I can do to try and help them. I can’t sit around knowing they can barely reach out to us due to electricity/internet being down. Everything happening days before Christmas too…
Again, thank you so much for anything you can do to help. We want to do everything we can to help our loved ones out there even through the most difficult times of our lives.
Funds will be sent to my aunt, Lorna Temperatura who lives here in Northern California. She has direct access to provide the funds to my close cousin who has recently reached out to us with these photos.
***UPDATE***
Families have received all funds so far and have been able to obtain clean drinking water, sacks of rice, canned goods and cleaning products in both Kabankalan and Sipalay City. Your generous donations did that and we all thank you for what we’ve been able to help with so far. It will be a long recovery, (especially for those in Sipalay as they got hit even harder). Starting over will be difficult, but Filipinos are resilient and strong and will overcome these difficulties. We are continuing to send funds to further help with roofing/structural repairs and basic needs. Bless your hearts, and thank you again for all of your help!!
