A few years ago, my dog accidentally injured himself, but at the time, there were no obvious symptoms. We noticed occasional squeals, but thought he might just be sensitive. It wasn’t until about a year ago, when he started limping, that we realized something was seriously wrong. My dad took him to the vet yesterday, and we received heartbreaking news: he’s paralyzed in his hind legs due to a ruptured disc.

This diagnosis has been incredibly hard on our family. My parents are divorced and live in separate households, which means they can’t afford the full cost of his treatment on their own. The only way to give my dog a chance at walking again is through surgery, followed by a long recovery process.
