Help Save Lexi — Emergency Surgery Needed

Hi, I’m Bailey. I’m 18 years old, and I’m reaching out for help for my beautiful dog, Lexi — who has just turned 6 years old.

What Needs to Happen (In Order of Urgency):

1: Emergency bladder surgery — This is now our top priority. The vet has warned that if the multiple bladder stones block her, Lexi could go into crisis without warning. She needs this operation as soon as possible to survive.

2: CCL rupture surgery — Once stable, she will need surgery to repair the ruptured ligament and rebuild strength in her leg.

3: Luxating patella correction — The knee will also need a separate operation to reshape the joint and stop the pain.

Lexi has already lost a huge amount of muscle mass in her bad leg. The longer we wait, the more damage is being done.

What happened: Lexi has always been a happy, playful girl. But October 2024, she’s been struggling with serious leg and bladder issues.

She hasn’t been able to walk properly since. Her leg keeps giving way, and she’s clearly in pain. My mam now has to carry her from room to room — but she has a spinal condition herself, and it’s becoming too much for her physically and emotionally.Lexi is our first-ever dog, and she’s been by our side through everything — especially during my mam’s darkest battles with her mental health. She’s not just a pet; she’s family.

Why We’re Asking for Help:

We’re a working-class family just trying to get by. I’m still in college, and my mam had to give up her small business due to her own health. She’s starting a new job in September, but the vet bills have already pushed us beyond our limit.

We’ve tried everything — savings, borrowing, even pet insurance, which has refused to cover any of this due to loopholes and exclusions.
