Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out for help with my 7-year-old Australian Shepherd, who was just diagnosed with glaucoma. Sadly, he has completely lost vision in his right eye. Despite being on pressure-reducing eye drops, the eye remains painfully swollen, red and he's clearly uncomfortable.
The vet has recommended an outpatient procedure to remove the eye — a surgery that will relieve his pain and prevent further complications. Right now, there is a real concern that he could accidentally scratch the swollen, blind eye or develop an infection if left untreated.
The total cost of the surgery, medications, and follow-up care is $2,500. It's a lot to manage on my own, and I'm doing everything I can to get him the relief he needs. The good news is that dogs typically bounce back quickly after this type of procedure and live full, happy lives.
Anything you can give — even just sharing this page — makes a difference. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and support during this tough time.
With gratitude,
Lauren
