Hi, everyone! My dog is my world, and recently we've been through an emotional rollercoaster. Gidget was first diagnosed with congestive heart failure and started on new medication, but she had alarming and distressing side effects and had to be rushed to the emergency pet hospital. After the emergency visit, we were told there were no signs of heart failure, but the relief was short-lived. Our regular vet still believes this could be heart related and is urging us to get an echocardiogram done so we can know for sure. If it's not her heart, then her symptoms are likely due to tracheal collapse, but if it is heart related, we'll be managing two conditions at once. The uncertainty has been so stressful, and the costs just keep adding up.

The initial vet visit and emergency care were extremely expensive, and now we're facing even more costs for the echocardiogram at the cardiology clinic. I'm currently unemployed, and my partner has been doing everything she can to help cover these costs. It's taken a huge toll on both of us—her savings are nearly gone, and she can't even afford to take her own animal to the vet because of this situation. We never expected to be dealing with such a complicated and expensive diagnosis, and it's been so hard trying to make sure Gidget gets the care she needs.
