My grandfather Steve has had the worst luck these past few years. His wife and daughter both passed away 2 years ago, he lost the family's original home that he built himself and lived in for 40+ years due to his poor memory, and I've been renting a place with him ever since to keep an eye on him, make sure he's not alone, and make sure he's okay. He was recently in a horrific car accident, someone rear-ended him at 50 MPH, totaled his car, and broke 3 vertebrae in his spine. He barely survived that ordeal and has just now started to recover from his injuries. Now our landlord is evicting us through no fault of our own, we always paid rent on time. The property management company is simply selling the properties outright to the highest bidder, and won't be renting it out to anyone anymore. I have 90 days to find him a new place and I only make minimum wage. I'm the only family he has left, I'm all he's got. I can't send him to an old folk's home. He wants to keep living independently with his beloved 14-year-old cat Thunderpaws.
If you've made it this far, thanks for reading the story. Anything helps.
