Hi, my name is Gillian, and I’m fundraising for my dad Jason. He’s an incredibly kind and loving father of three who has fallen into a devastating health and financial crisis when he was sick from covid and fell and hit his head a few years ago.

My dad lives with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a host of severe symptoms:

Constant migraines

Vertigo and extreme dizziness

Tinnitus

Serious balance problems (he falls and stumbles frequently)

Short term memory problems and cognitive issues

My dad before his fall used to be such a happy and outgoing person. No matter how bad things got he would always try to stay positive. Even after everything that has happened with his head injury, losing his job, my grandpa’s injury, and being in deep debt he still trys to stay positive but I know that in reality he is really hurting inside.
He’s gone to multiple doctors and is in physical therapy, but it hasn’t brought much relief.

Despite his health struggles, he’s been trying to care for his own father (my grandpa), who suffered a bad fall in Florida and has been in the hospital for over a year. My dad regularly travels from Missouri to Florida to help manage my grandpa’s care because his stepmom is older and can’t handle it alone. Plane tickets and extra expenses have added a huge strain.

On top of this, my dad’s essential migraine prevention medication, Ajovy, costs about $900 per month (even with GoodRx it’s still $706–$800). His insurance won’t cover it, and without it his symptoms are unbearable.

He barely gets any Social Security income due to the system messing up, he’s had no choice but to rely on credit cards just to cover:

His mortgage (about $1,200/month)

Car payment and insurance

Basic living expenses and travel to Florida to help his dad

He’s now about $47,000 in credit card debt and also owes about $25,000 from a loan taken against my grandpa’s house to help my dad survive.

He is at risk of losing his home, can’t afford his medications, and is under crushing stress.

I’m raising funds to help cover:

His Ajovy medication (about $706–$900/month)

His mortgage and basic bills so he can stay in his home

Travel to Florida to continue caring for his father

The hospital expenses to continue care for his father

Any contribution will go directly toward these essentials. Even $10 helps. If you can’t give, simply sharing this campaign with friends and family makes a huge difference.

My dad has always been the one to help others, now he’s the one who needs help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading our story and for any support you can give.
