Help Our Dear Friend Abel Rebuild His Home

Hello family, friends and anyone who happens to be reading this. As many of you may know I have been frequently visiting Costa Rica for the past 10+ years. I went there originally for my love of nature but wound up falling in love with culture, community and most importantly the people. Manzanillio is a very special place that words can't describe.

Our friend Abel, a local nature guide known for his dedication to sharing the beauty and culture of Costa Rica, lost his home recently when a tree fell on it during a heavy storm.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the damage was extensive. The roof collapsed in places, and much of the house is no longer livable. Like many local guides, his home is more than a shelter. It's where he stores his gear, plans his tours, and welcomes visitors.

We’re raising funds to help him rebuild. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go toward buying materials, fixing the roof, and helping him restore a safe and stable place to live.

A Message from Abel:

On Friday, at 4:00 p.m., a large tree was pushed by a storm and fell on my house. The damage was extensive, suffering total loss of the roof and structure. This impact leaves both me and my family without a place to live. The heavy rains typical of the season came to further aggravate the situation. I have literally lost all the belongings in my house. After working as a tour guide for more than 25 years independently, this is a situation that takes me totally by surprise and affects me emotionally, economically, and as a family. Therefore, today I reach out to all of you to ask for your contribution to help us overcome this hard blow. I will forever be graeatful....Pura Vida
