I'm raising funds for my dear friend Angela and her family as her 10 year old son fights a serious cancer diagnosis.
Help Cosmo Fight Stage 3 Burkitt’s Lymphoma
Angela, Cosmo and their family's world changed in a matter of days.
What started as a stomach ache turned into something no one could have imagined. After two trips to the ER and a parent trusting their instincts that something was not right, a CT scan revealed multiple tumors.
Within three days, 10 year old Cosmo was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Burkitt’s lymphoma, and was rushed by ambulance to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
Cosmo is now facing Stage 3 cancer.
He has tumors on his bladder, near his kidney and liver, and on his small intestine. He will have a port placed and begin chemotherapy immediately, with an expected hospital stay of at least three months.
Cosmo is so much more than this diagnosis.
He is a bright, deeply thoughtful boy with a shy, sweet, and mischievous spirit. He loves playing piano, riding his dirt bike, and spending hours outside. Nothing makes him happier than having woods to explore and dirt to dig in. He is fiercely protective of his little sister and has the gentlest, most loving heart. He already misses his dog Spot, his cat Cleo, and his pet snake more than anything.
His family went from normal life to a life inside a hospital almost overnight. The shock has been overwhelming, and they are doing everything they can to stay strong for Cosmo as he begins this fight.
While his medical care is covered by insurance, the reality of daily life is quickly becoming a financial strain. The family is traveling back and forth to Tacoma, paying for gas, parking, and meals during long hospital days.
Cosmo’s dad is missing work to care for his sister and to be at the hospital as much as possible, which means lost income at a time when stability is needed most.
The family is asking for help to ease this burden so they can focus all of their energy where it belongs, on Cosmo.
Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting the family through this time, including travel, food, parking, and basic living expenses while they remain by his side throughout treatment.
If you are unable to give, sharing this page means more than you know.
Thank you for standing with Cosmo, for lifting this family up, and for being part of the support system helping him through the fight of his life.
They are taking this one day at a time and holding onto hope every step of the way.
