Help my dear dad and step mom start over their lives

Hi everyone,

On the night of January 7th, right before 7 pm, Sandro told me to tell my father and stepmom about a fire in Eaton Canyon in Altadena. Having never experienced a fire, my father did not anticipate the seriousness and extremely fast-moving fire that would unfortunately end up engulfing his home and most of his street on Maiden Lane in Altadena.

After learning about the fire, he quickly made a small bag of belongings, put his two cats in carriers, and spent the next 2 hours trying to catch his third cat, Monty, to put in a carrier. He rescued Monty from the street, so this cat was almost impossible to put in a carrier. Needing to leave and unable to catch Monty, he assumed in the morning he would be back to try to get him… but unfortunately, that was not the case.

While watching the news the next morning, they saw what felt like a nightmare… watching on the news their street burning to the ground and pretty positive watching their home in flames. A few hours later, they had confirmation that their house was burned to the ground. Receiving the photo of his home he loved so much burned to the ground with the message “our house is gone” was such a painful and shocking thing to see. We are hoping Monty miraculously got out somehow, but this fact of what might have happened to him just adds a horrible layer of pain.

My father and stepmom have lost absolutely everything. My dad means so much to me and has always been there for me. I am so grateful our home was saved in Malibu by Sandro and his friend, but feeling so sad at the same time for what my dad and step mom are going through.
