I lost my apartment that was handed down to me due to being treated unfairly by my father. Because of this, I had to find somewhere safe for my dog to go. I wanted him to be cared for, but I never found anyone I trusted. My dad ended up taking him while I was at work. Even though I knew he didn’t care for dogs the way I do, I let my dog stay there, hoping he’d be better off.

A good bit of time went by, and then an old friend called me over and over to tell me my dog was at the shelter and about to be euthanized. His health was declining, his leg was fractured, and he needed a rabies shot. I found out he was never registered like my dad said he would, and I even received an animal cruelty citation, even though I hadn’t had him for months. When he was with me, he was always well taken care of, and I have pictures, videos, and friends who can vouch for that. What makes this even harder is that my dog is deaf, and I can’t imagine how scared and alone he must have felt.

I love my dog and just want him to be okay. I never would’ve been able to live with myself if I hadn’t tried to do something about it. I’m asking for help to cover his vet bills so I can bring him home, get him healthy, and give him the second chance he deserves. Any support means the world to us.
