Help My Deaf & Blind Rescue Dog Get Life-Changing Surgery!
Donation protected
This is Leo. He’s my 9-year-old dachshund, my heart, and a soul who’s overcome more than most animals—or humans—ever should.
I adopted Leo in 2016 from All Texas Dachshund Rescue. He was born deaf, and they told me he had an eye abnormality that would eventually result in blindness. Before rescue, Leo spent the first two years of his life abused and neglected—left outside to survive on his own.
Just two short years after I adopted him, I became homeless with Leo in Austin. We lived on the streets together for years, protecting and comforting each other through everything. When I finally chose to go into rehab and rebuild my life, a family member cared for Leo during my recovery.
When I got him back, his right eye had sunken in, and he had lost much of his vision. Despite everything, Leo’s spirit remained gentle, loving, and strong.
Now Leo is facing a new health challenge. He has developed a serious dental infection and complications in his eye socket that require urgent surgery. He will need most of his teeth removed, and the area around his damaged eye treated surgically. The total cost, including surgery, medication, and post-op care, is $2,000.
I am asking for your help. Leo deserves to live free from pain—to experience the safety and love he’s fought so hard for. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his surgery and recovery. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign would mean everything to us.
This is more than just vet bills—it’s about giving Leo the peace and comfort he’s earned a thousand times over. He’s not just my dog. He’s my companion, my healer, and a living testament to survival and unconditional love.
Thank you for being part of Leo’s healing. Your kindness matters more than you know! ❤️
