Lets keep Siyana smiling

Donation protected

Siyana is a sunny girl, who needs life-support medications every day (accompanied with all the equipment for administrating them), and is awaiting two general surgeries as soon as we collect the money - for bowels and for kidney transplantation. Also, she needs to go trough physiotherapy-procedures in a specialized clinic.

Here is her story.

Siyana was born on 16th November 2017 at just 23 weeks and 2 days gestation with a weight of 595 grams!
It was an warm autumn day and I was feeling perfect. Nothing to show that my baby decided to come out. Against our plans and dreams for her, she arrived very stubborn with just 25-30% chance to survive. She was put on a life-support machine right after her appearance.

10 days old Siyana developed NEC which is a disease in the bowel. My tiny little baby who couldn’t even bare to be touched, had to be transferred to another hospital for an urgent surgery. Doctors gave her 70% chance NOT to survive the morning. Siyana had a very heavy sepsis and also went trough a numerous blood transfusions. Doctors told us to leave her to rest and me and my husband needed to go back in our room in the hospital. It was the heaviest night we had to spend. We trilled out when the phone rang, as we were expecting a call from the NICU in case of any change in Siyanas condition. Especially after the suggestion from the specialists to call a priest, who could bless Siyana, which we refused with the belief that we will baptise her when she turns age of One year. This night we prayed God to do what is the best for our daughter, and He decided her to live! Our baby was fighting. Not only survived the night, but she survived many other nights in the NICU. And every time she was feeling our presence, mine and her fathers, she was rewarding us with her big smile, showing us how strong she is, and telling that non of us must surrender!

After birth, our daughter came with a totally blue and disabled to move hand. After physiotherapy, she particularly recovered the movements of the hand, but this hand grows smaller than the other, which she needs physiotherapy for yet. She needs also help to learn how to walk or even sit.

In the hospital, (8 months in total) Siyana undergo 5 surgeries of the bowels, and now she still has her open stomach. She has small and almost not functional big bowel. Recently she was diagnosed with Dysplastic kidneys (Chronic kidneys failure) and high risk of Cerebral palsy. During the rest of Siyana’s time in the hospital she had also over 15 blood transfusions, few times recovered sepsis, recovered retinopathy, recovered even winter virus.

Siyana has proved everyone wrong and gone against everything the professionals know and I believe she is going to carry on doing that. I believe with the right help Siyana will thrive, but early intervention is the key.

Released at home, Siyana is still on life-support medications (intravenous feeding, kidneys support medications etc.) And is awaiting her 6th surgery which will be for the bowels, and 7th one for kidney transplantation. We hardly believe that she will make it and will grow a beautiful angel, who she is now! Our girl is strong, she just needs a little more support!

We lost two babies before Siyana, in week 13 and week 23, so we put all our hopes on her now and we believe she will stay with us!
