My 8 year old daughter lives with Reactive Attachment Disorder along with developmental and neurological disabilities that impact emotional regulation, impulse control, trust, and cognitive processing.
Building safe connections is especially difficult for her. Traditional therapy helps, but equine therapy provides a powerful bridge.
Horses and donkeys respond immediately and honestly to emotional cues. In sessions, she learns to regulate her body and emotions in order to connect with the donkeys and horses. This strengthens her ability to develop trust, improve self-control, and practice safe attachment in a structured and supportive setting.
Equine therapy also supports:
Processing speed and attention
Sensory regulation
Coordination and core strength
Emotional awareness
Healthy relational skills
We’ve seen moments of calm, pride, and connection that are hard to achieve in other settings. These sessions are giving her tools that will support her for a lifetime.
Because insurance does not cover equine therapy, we are asking for help to continue this essential part of her treatment plan. Her sessions are $55 and she attends weekly. Any support — through donating or sharing — makes a meaningful difference in her life.
Thank you for helping her grow, heal, and build the future she deserves.
