My daughters are part of an incredible organization that empowers girls of color to become entrepreneurs, literary authors, and travelers. This year, the organization is offering amazing opportunities: the High School cohort will travel to Morocco and Milan, while the Middle School cohort will visit New Orleans. Through this program, the girls learn public speaking, self-love, respect, and self-advocacy. My oldest, Itzel, has already started her own homemade jewelry business thanks to the guidance and tools she received, and my younger daughter is excited about starting her own dog walking business.

The funds raised will go directly toward their travel expenses, including tickets, meals, room and board, and a little spending money. These trips are more than just travel—they are a chance for my daughters to experience new cultures, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills. I truly believe these experiences will shape them into compassionate, driven, and globally-minded young women.

When I was younger, I didn’t have opportunities like this. I was only able to travel abroad after graduating and saving up, but that experience changed my life. It opened my eyes to the world, helped me build genuine connections, and made me realize how interconnected we all are.
