My daughter’s life changed forever when she was just 13 years old. She was outside playing with her friends when a car came out of nowhere and hit her. The accident was devastating, and she was rushed to the ICU, where doctors had to amputate her left leg to save her life. Since then, she has struggled with sadness and depression, feeling like she can’t do the things other kids her age can. Now, at 16, she’s in high school and just wants to feel normal again.

A prosthetic leg would give her the opportunity to walk again and get back into physical therapy, learning how to walk with two legs. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to provide her with this service because the cost is so high. Insurance doesn’t cover everything, and I need to pay $6,000 out of pocket to get her a leg. It’s been difficult to see her lose hope and joy, knowing that I can’t do more for her.
