I am reaching out with an urgent request in supporting Baby Rosedeep Kaur, a 2-year-old girl battling retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of eye cancer affecting both of her eyes. Her family is doing everything in their power to save her eyesight and her life, but they need our help to meet the overwhelming medical expenses and ongoing treatment costs. We hope to reach the goal by the 28th of January, in order for Rosedeep to receive her treatment before it is too late.
Rosedeep’s Journey So Far
Rosedeep was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, Group D, at just a year old. Since then, she has undergone:
- Six cycles of intravenous chemotherapy (IVC) to combat the cancer.
- Multiple intra-arterial chemotherapy (IAC) procedures targeting her left eye.
- Plaque brachytherapy – a specialised radiation treatment for the left eye.
- Numerous intravitreal and periocular injections to control the tumour growth and spread.
- Laser therapy (TTT) for residual tumours in both eyes.
Despite all these treatments, Rosedeep continues to face ongoing tumour recurrences and calcifications, requiring intensive medical care and follow-ups every few weeks.
Current Situation and Financial Need
Rosedeep’s treatment is currently being operated by some of the best specialists in Hyderabad at Apollo Hospitals and the Centre for Sight. While the doctors are optimistic, the road ahead remains long and financially demanding. The cost of just one treatment cycle (including chemotherapy, brachytherapy, injections, and hospitalisation) is over ₹1,80,000 (~AUD 3,400).
The family needs approximately ₹20,00,000 (~AUD 38,000) over the next two years to cover the cost of:
- Continued specialised chemotherapy.
- Regular blood tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Hospital stays, surgical procedures, and medications.
- Post-treatment care and monitoring.
Rosedeep’s parents have exhausted their savings and are struggling to keep up with the mounting medical bills. As loving parents, they are determined to do everything possible to save their daughter, but they cannot do it alone. This is where we can step in to help.
