Three weeks ago, our lives changed in an instant. My daughter was involved in a terrible car accident that left her injured both physically and emotionally. While we are grateful she survived, the impact of the accident has reached far beyond the crash itself. She has been a single mother since she was just 17 years old. For the past 13 years, she has worked tirelessly to provide a stable, loving life for her son—often putting her own needs last. Eight months ago, she finally reached a milestone she was so proud of: moving out on her own and building independence for herself and her child. Then the accident happened. She missed three weeks of work while recovering, resulting in a complete loss of income during that time. Her car, which was paid off, was totaled. While insurance covered the vehicle, it did not leave her with the means to replace it. She now has no car, no savings to purchase one, and mounting bills that don’t pause just because life does. Without a vehicle, everyday life has become incredibly difficult. Getting to work, getting her son to and from school and his YMCA sports activities, and attending medical appointments has been a constant challenge. On top of that, she is still dealing with the physical pain and emotional trauma left by the accident. We are asking for help to give her a bridge forward. Funds raised will go toward purchasing a reliable used vehicle, covering essential bills missed during her recovery, and helping with transportation costs and her son’s activities while she heals.
