So many have been asking about the specifics with Ava. Ava's hearing has been an issue since birth. We've had 9 surgeries related to help her hearing and her sinuses. Unfortunately two or so years ago the hearing test results showed a decline in her ability to hear. Just this past summer her hearing declined drastically. After further testing and scans it shows that there is an issue with the bones of the middle ear. 

 In order to help her regain some hearing she has to have hearing aids. While she has hearing aids the next step will be to see a otologist and have an exploratory surgery done to see what exactly is causing the hearing loss in the middle ear. The possibilities range from a bone disorder to cyst to even a possible tumor that isn't shown on scans.

 Insurance will not cover some of the hearing aids ($5900) until the deductible is met. Time is of the essence. We want our baby girl to experience life with all the sounds it has to offer. Prayers are appreciated as we navigate through this. Thank you all

My daughter, Ava, has been struggling with hearing issues that have made daily life a challenge. Simple conversations and socializing at school have become difficult for her, and it’s heartbreaking to see her miss out on the little things that most of us take for granted. Each hearing test she’s had shows a significant decline in her ability to hear, and it’s clear that she needs hearing aids as soon as possible to help her connect with the world around her.

We are doing everything we can as a family, working all the hours possible, but we simply can’t come up with the amount needed for her hearing aids. She still needs to see a specialist to determine the cause of her hearing loss, but in the meantime, hearing aids will make a huge difference in her ability to participate in school and enjoy time with friends and family.
