Hello, my name is Vicki, and I'm reaching out with a humble heart and a hopeful spirit. My daughter Catherine (Cat) has always been the one others could count on. She has organized emergency relief efforts for those in need. She is always putting others above herself. She is the first one to show up and the last to leave when someone needs help and support. After working hard labor jobs most of her life, while raising her children as a single mother, she finds herself in a place she never imagined: in desperate need of help.
Over the past 15 months, she has undergone 4 very serious hip surgeries, the most recent just a week and a half ago. This injury began years ago from wear and tear on the job, but she kept working through the pain to support her family and keep a roof over her head. Unfortunately, the damage worsened over time, eventually tearing completely and forcing her into repeated surgeries and long recovery periods.
Even in between operations, she pushed herself to work whenever she could just to survive, but it came at a cost. Now, after this last surgery, her body needs a full year to recover and go through physical therapy if she is going to regain strength and avoid permanent damage. She simply cannot afford to push herself again too soon.
As of now:
> She has lost her job of the last 6 years due to the physical limitations from these injuries.
> She lives alone now, with no income after this and no one to lean on.
> Her monthly bills total around $2200, just for the basics: mortgage, utilities, and car payment.
> She has medical expenses that insurance didn't fully cover.
I'm asking for this help for my daughter to help make it through this difficult healing period - to avoid losing her home, her vehicle, and everything she has worked so hard to build. This would give her a real chance to heal fully, follow through with physical therapy, and eventually find a new, less physically demanding job that she can do long term.
If you've ever been in a place where you didn't know how you would make it to the next month, then you know how scary that feels. Every donation - no matter how small - will bring her closer to stability and a future she can rebuild.
Even if you can't give, sharing this with your network would mean the world to me and her.
With gratitude and hope,
Vicki
