On January 12, I took my daughter to school healthy, happy, and perfectly fine. She attended Hutto Elementary School. That day changed our lives forever.
I was later told my daughter fell from a 1½–2 foot chair, hit her head, and was unconscious for approximately 40 minutes. Despite the severity of her condition, she was moved before her spine was stabilized, and no one accompanied her in the ambulance. CPR/chest compressions were performed until EMS arrived.
Once she reached the hospital, my daughter required emergency spinal surgery. She suffered a brain bleed and a stroke. She is currently dependent on a breathing tube, and her lungs are now failing after developing pneumonia caused by hospital-acquired bacteria following surgery. My baby is fighting for her life every single day.
I trusted that my child would be safe at school. Instead, our family is facing unimaginable pain, uncertainty, and an overwhelming road ahead. I have reached out to multiple attorneys seeking help and accountability, but due to Texas laws, no one has been willing to take the case or investigate what happened.
This GoFundMe is to help cover the extensive medical bills, rehabilitation, long-term aftercare, therapy, and support my daughter will need as she continues to fight and heal. Every donation will go directly toward ensuring she has the care, resources, and support necessary for her recovery.
If you are able to help in any way — through a donation, a share, or prayers — our family would be deeply grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read my daughter’s story and for standing with us during the hardest moment of our lives.
